North Carolina is filled with many reasons to love the Tar Heel state. North Carolina has many fantastic restaurants, diners, fun activities to do with family and friends,beautiful attractions, and popular music and arts events.
The Tarheel state is known for its sports madness of Carolina Panthers, College basketball of Duke Blue Devils and Race-car loving NASCAR fans. Nearly everywhere in North Carolina is home to something especially the best reasons why we love the Tarheel state.
You’ll find North Carolinians who love everything and anything in the Tarheel state. North Carolina is known for many things, kind and polite southern roots of talk saying y’all, yes ma’am, suga’ and darlin’, Southern hospitality, beautiful and breath-taking attractions and North Carolina’s great history. But with so many to choose from – how does one even choose? Well, these five reasons North Carolina is the best Tarheel state.
5. The North Carolina Mountains
North Carolina is home to one of the most beautiful places on Earth, the gorgeous mountains of Great Smoky Mountains, The Appalachian and Blue Ridge. Many travelers are drawn here for high country fun including horseback riding, hiking, and whitewater rafting.
4. The North Carolina Beaches
North Carolina has some of the beautiful shores to bask in the warm sand and dazzling sea. The beach is where you can watch a gorgeous sunset while walking along the sand on the beach. The best place to enjoy many activities such as kayaking and boating along the Inter-coastal Waterway, take in the ocean breeze, peaceful atmosphere and enjoy fun in the sun of a trip of fishing is at Hatteras Island, Topsail Island and Wrightsville Beach.

From UNC to Duke, the color blue comes in dozens of different shades, but North Carolinians know that there are only two that really matter. Life literally pauses during the ACC Tournament. When it comes to college basketball rivalries, it doesn’t get much more heated and epic than the enduring love/hate affair between “Duke Blue Devils” and Tarheels.
