So let’s talk about it…what’s exactly hooking up? What does it mean from different viewpoints of generations? How is it defined? Hooking up is a term that is used to describe anything that happens between two people. Basically hooking up is casual sex between two people who may not fully know one another or between friends, and even strangers. It’s a very subjective term, meaning that each person will define it in the way as it relates to them.
What does Hooking up mean from different generations?
We are within the realm of technology where everyone has an iPhone, Android, Tablet, Bluetooth or laptop, but the hook up culture, it seems as if every generation has a different definition of what it actually means to their generation.” Our youth today are just shacking up, they are not really getting to know one another, they are just out here having sex not trying to develop any type of relationship that comes with an commitment and nothing else, said Goldia Howell, Baby Boomer generation.”
Every generation has different opinion or viewpoint about how hooking up is defined to them. Can the hooking up phenomenon be the new era for the millennials and nexters generation of dating? “Hooking up is defined as sometimes between friends with benefits of two people having a sexual relationship without being emotionally involved or without a monogomous relationship or any kind of commitment, said Sarah Krause, Generation X.”
“Hooking up to our generation is defined as casual sex no strings attached meaning just sexual relationship without the relationship aspect of dating, meeting one another parents, and spending time with each other, said Makaylah Grant, Millennial.” “Hooking up is defined as getting some type of action such as making out, feeling or touching someone’s body part, giving oral sex or two people going all the way, said Brittany Davidson, Nexters generation.”
What does God think about this hooking up? How is Hooking up defined in the God’s word, the Holy Bible? Does the millennial and nexters generation know the consequences that comes with hooking up?
How Is Hooking up defined in the Holy Bible?
God has a plan for our life and He doesn’t like when we break commandants and don’t fully live the lifestyle He has planned for us according to His word. Below there are two scriptures in the Bible that makes a reference of what we consider what God thinks about hooking-up:
For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication(Sexual intercourse): That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour.(Learn to control your own body in a way that is holy and honorable.)-1 Thessalonians 4:3-4 KJV
Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. (Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts.)-2 Timothy 2:22 KJV
What are the consequences that comes with Hooking up?
Did you know that every time you have sex with someone, they take a piece of your soul with them and vice versa? Every time you hook up with someone, you develop soul ties with that person and every other person they slept with. That can leave your spirit very uneasy and restless. Every time you have sex with someone that opens the door of forming into a soul ties.
Hooking up can leave someone feeling ashamed, guilty, disgusted and unworthy of themselves-this causes a problem hurting someone emotionally and physically. The person will feel like they are just being used for sex. Before entering into a hook up or relationship with someone, Know what you need and want. Don’t settle for less (Goes for men and women) look for the right qualities in a man/woman who will appreciate your for your personality and not your body!
How are soul ties formed?
When you spend a lot of time with someone, you are forming a bond with that person. Through whatever you do together – whether if it is eating, traveling, working, talking – the connection strengthens between you and that person. You have soul ties with your children, family members, friends, coworkers, and classmates. F or example, Jonathan was the eldest son of King Saul and his friend David who was the future king are a perfect example of a God-designed soul tie. In this type of relationship, God’s power magnifies and increases. The same is true for when you develop a wrong soul tie with a person. In that instance, it opens an opportunity for Satan , the devil to work on your behalf, and his evil power is intensified.
Sexual Relationships that form into Soul Ties
Did you know that soul ties are formed any time and every time there is intimacy in a relationship? For instance, say you just ended a physically intimate relationship months ago with your ex boyfriend or girlfriend, but you still feel a pull toward that person. Soul ties actually prevent us from moving on to new relationships, even the ones God may be leading us into. This can even happen in situations of divorce, getting engaged or starting a new relationship. Let’s say you were married and the divorce is over, a new marriage or relationship is pursued, but one spouse keeps being drawn back to his or her ex-husband or ex-wife. Their soul is still tied to the former spouse. According to God’s word in the New Testament James 1:8 says, “A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.” A double-minded person is one with a divided soul. Do you feel unstable at times? Do you want to move on with your life but are struck in random moments of missing your ex-boyfriend, ex-girlfriend, ex-husband or ex-wife? This is being double -minded and not something God wants you to experience. He wants you to be free from every sin of your past – even the ones you willfully gave into over and over but still think about at times.
How Do you Break a Soul Tie from your past , previous relationship or partner?
Decide to please God more than anyone
You have only one life to live, and it matters to God. One day, when you leave this earth, our spirit will stand before God and give an account of your life and what you were called to do during your time here on earth. You cannot go through to live your life displeasing our heavenly father God in order to please someone else. All that will do to you is eventually bring you a life of deep regret and sorrow.
In your life, you must come to a place in your life where pleasing God is the most important thing to do! In our life God will speak to you prompting you to end a relationship that you’re tied to, when He speaks to you then you need to end it. You should never allow someone to have as much influence as God should have in your life. That opens the door for Satan, the devil to come into your life and cause havoc and destruction. The Devil’s ultimate goal is to seek out and destroy you! He will make it so much harder for you to give up this soul tie that is causing you harm through your spirit. The right time to cut the strings is now. Today. Even this very minute.
Build yourself up in God’s Word the Holy Bible
In order to build yourself up you must study and read God’s word in order to develop the strength to sever an ungodly soul tie. This is a process that you cannot do on your own. As you are connecting with God’s word, studying, reading and applying His commandments to your life and living your life according to His will He can help you make the right decisions. In removing your soul tie, you must have God’s word be a part of your strategic plan to be free of your past, previous relationships or partner.
Every time you open, study and read the Bible it is your greatest weapon against Satan. The Devil does not want you to break your soul ties because he is desperately working to keep you locked into this situation. When the devil keeps you locked into this situation he feeds you lies and convinces you that you cannot live without him or her in your life. This is NOT TRUE! God’s Word is the Truth and the light, the Bible will overpower Satan’s lies and deceit. Getting through this process won’t be easy but you must have faith in God that He will see you through this. You have to make time and keep studying God’s word a daily habit for you. Otherwise you are opening the door for Satan to come and destroy you.
Take action from Depriving Yourself from that person
You literally have to deprive yourself from that person to whom you have ungodly soul ties with-whether it is an ex-boyfriend, ex-girlfriend, friend, ex-husband and ex-wife. In order to cut your soul ties with that person you must not continue the relationship, think about this person or miss him or her.
